I was born and raised in Hickory Flat, MS. In 1994, I married my husband Gary. We have two daughters, Heather nad Makayla. Gary was a disabled veteran. We lived in West TN. I recently moved to Ashland City to live near my daughter Heather and son-in-law Laitin.
I started substitute teaching in 2004 and then went on to take the assistant Praxis test and was hired full time in 2006 to work as an assistant to the teacher for a program called Save The Children Literacy Program. I helped children K through 4th grade with reading comprehension. I worked until Gary had neck surgery in 2012 and I started taking care of him (He passed away on April 24, 2020 from lung cancer.) and worked part time as a sub until August 2021.
I am thankful to now be working at ACES helping children learn and succeed. We can ALL make a difference!
